How to sell crypto for AED in the UAE
To sell crypto for AED in the UAE, you sell it for dirhams on a licensed platform, then withdraw the AED to a bank account in your own name. On BitOasis that means a trading fee when you sell, a flat withdrawal fee and a wait of up to a few days before the money reaches your bank.
Risk warning. Virtual Assets may lose their value in full or in part, and are subject to extreme volatility. The owner and/or investor in the Virtual Asset can lose all the money or other value they invest, and does not benefit from any form of financial protection. Key takeaways
- Selling for AED has two stages: converting crypto to dirhams, then withdrawing the dirhams to your bank.
- Withdrawals go only to a personal bank account in your own name, with a minimum of AED 200.
- Two fees apply on BitOasis: a trading fee and a flat AED withdrawal fee of AED 25, or AED 65 above AED 25,000.
- BitOasis publishes two different timing statements, so allow the longer window if the date matters.
- Confirm the licence entry on the VARA register before you send crypto to any platform.
How selling crypto for AED works
Selling crypto for dirhams is a two-stage process. First you place a sell order, which converts the asset into an AED balance on the platform. Then you withdraw that balance to your bank. The two stages have separate fees and separate timing, which is why a sale can look instant on screen while the money takes longer to arrive.
The sections below follow the BitOasis route, using figures from its published sell crypto and withdraw AED page and its fee schedule. If you are new to the platform, the guide to buying Bitcoin in the UAE covers verification and funding, which you complete before you can withdraw.
The steps to sell and withdraw
Step 1: have the crypto in your platform wallet
If you bought the asset on the platform, it is already there. If it sits elsewhere, send it to the receiving address shown for that asset and use a supported network. BitOasis says funds sent on an unsupported network may be lost, so match the network exactly. The guide to crypto wallets in the UAE explains networks and transfers.
Step 2: sell for AED on Lite or Pro
On Lite you choose the pair, such as BTC-AED, enter the amount and confirm the summary. On Pro you place a market order or a limit order. A market order fills at the best available price now. A limit order waits until your chosen price is reached. The dirhams go to your AED balance.
Step 3: withdraw AED to your own bank account
Open Wallet, choose Withdraw and pick a bank account in your own name. The minimum is AED 200. Check the amount and the account details before you confirm, because the bank, not the platform, controls what happens once the transfer is sent.
What it costs
You pay a trading fee when you sell and a flat fee when you withdraw. The table shows the entry-tier figures that BitOasis published for a retail account.
| What you do | Fee |
|---|---|
| Sell on Lite | 0% trading fee |
| Sell on Pro as maker | 0.38% |
| Sell on Pro as taker | 0.58% |
| Withdraw AED, up to AED 25,000 | AED 25 |
| Withdraw AED, above AED 25,000 | AED 65 |
Read from the BitOasis fee pages on 6 October 2026 and checked against the sell page on 14 October 2026. Pro has further volume tiers; see the full fee tables.
A maker order adds liquidity by resting on the order book until someone fills it, and a taker order is filled immediately against an existing order. Lite shows 0%, but its quoted price includes a spread that BitOasis does not publish, so compare the quote with the market price before you confirm.
An illustration with invented numbers
You sell crypto worth AED 10,000 and withdraw the dirhams in one transfer. As a Pro taker, 0.58% is AED 58 and the withdrawal fee is AED 25, so AED 83 in total. As a Pro maker, 0.38% is AED 38, so AED 63 in total. On Lite the trading fee is 0%, plus AED 25, with the unpublished spread on top. The sale value is an example, not a price or a forecast.
Because the withdrawal fee is flat, it weighs more on small amounts: AED 25 is 12.5% of the AED 200 minimum but 0.25% of AED 10,000. Selling in fewer, larger transactions usually costs less in withdrawal fees than withdrawing in many small ones.
How long it takes
BitOasis publishes two statements about timing and they differ. Its help centre says a withdrawal requested before 11:00 AM UAE time, Monday to Saturday, is processed the same day, and one requested after that is processed on the next banking day. Its fees page says 1 to 2 days to process and up to 3 days to credit.
Your bank then credits the account, which is outside the platform's control. If you need the dirhams by a fixed date, such as a rent or tuition payment, request the withdrawal early and plan on the longer window.
Rules that catch people out
- Own-name accounts only. Third-party accounts, meaning any account that is not yours, are not accepted.
- Verification comes first. You must complete identity verification and a source-of-funds declaration before you can withdraw. Read about account security and custody to see how the account is protected.
- Currencies. AED is the supported route here. A help centre notice showed other currencies as temporarily unavailable when it was last read, so check the fees page before planning a non-AED withdrawal.
- Maximum per withdrawal. BitOasis does not publish one, so ask support before moving a very large sum.
Other ways to cash out
A licensed platform withdrawal is not the only route. Peer-to-peer trades and over-the-counter desks also exist, and each has different costs, speed and paper trails. The comparison of cash-out options in the UAE sets them side by side. For a very large order, some sellers prefer an OTC desk in the UAE, where a price is agreed before the trade. Whichever route you choose, check that the counterparty is licensed. The guide to VARA licences shows how to read the public register.
Checks before you sell
- Confirm the platform's entry on the VARA public register: name, reference, licensed activity and status.
- Compare the quoted price with the market price, especially on Lite.
- Add the trading fee and the withdrawal fee to see the net dirhams you will receive.
- Check that the bank account is in your name and the details are correct.
- Keep records of the sale and withdrawal for your own files.
This guide does not cover tax. If you have questions about reporting, ask a qualified adviser or the relevant UAE authority.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sell crypto for AED to a bank account in the UAE?
Yes, on a licensed platform that supports AED withdrawals. On BitOasis you sell the crypto for dirhams and then withdraw to a personal bank account in your own name. Third-party accounts are not accepted, and the minimum AED withdrawal is AED 200.
How much does it cost to sell crypto on BitOasis?
Two fees apply. The trading fee is 0% on Lite, though the quoted price includes an unpublished spread, and 0.38% maker or 0.58% taker at the entry tier on Pro. The AED withdrawal fee is AED 25 up to AED 25,000 and AED 65 above that. Check the fees page for the current tables.
How long does an AED withdrawal take?
BitOasis publishes two statements. Its help centre says requests made before 11:00 AM UAE time, Monday to Saturday, are processed the same day. Its fees page says 1 to 2 days to process and up to 3 days to credit. Plan on the longer window if you need the money by a fixed date.
Can I sell USDT for AED?
Yes. USDT-AED is a live pair on BitOasis. Send USDT to your BitOasis wallet on a supported network, sell it for AED on Lite or Pro, then withdraw the dirhams to your bank account. USDT is issued by Tether, not by BitOasis.
Why can't I withdraw to someone else's bank account?
BitOasis accepts withdrawals only to a personal bank account in the account holder's own name. This keeps the money trail tied to the verified account holder. Accounts belonging to a relative, friend or employer are third-party accounts and are not accepted.
Is selling crypto a financial recommendation?
No. This guide explains how the process works and what it costs. It does not say whether you should sell. Virtual assets can lose value in full or in part, and nothing here is investment advice.
More short answers are in the BitOasis FAQ, and the About page names the licensed entity behind the platform.
